[xmail] XMail footprint?

2003-01-13 Thread Nick Satis
Hello, anyone knows what the footprint of XMail is? I am interested in installing it about 20-30 times on a server box (each will run on its own IP, config, directory etc) and I am wondering what the impact will be on the server. I run Linux, RH 7.3 Almost every instance of the server will be

Because I need each one of them to administrate their own mail server :) Nick Ok, I just have to ask :) Why 20-30 installs on a single box? Why not one install that binds to 20-30 ip addresses? - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe xmail in the body of a message to [EMAIL

Well, I need each server to be different. Anyway, the thing is that I need to load 20-30 different instances and I don't know the impact. That's why I am asking from someone who is more familiar with the system. Thanks, nick Via ctrlclnt? Otherwise, why not use on the of ASP or PHP web

I would try XMailStats v1.6 for human readable logs. You can find it at http://xmail.eye-catcher.com . It goes through the log files and pulls the good information into an html file or text file. Look at the documentation for the program for more info. Troy -Original Message- From: Nick

[xmail] Implementing Subscribe/Unsubscribe to List via Email

I'm new to Xmail, but I do have a functioning evaluation server up and running and it seems excellent. I have one question, though, and I suspect the answer might be simple but I just don't see it in the docs: How do I implement a subscribe/unsubscribe control mechanism via email for a mailing

[xmail] Filters

Hello, I am reading about filters and I have succesfully installed antivirus support (F-Prot). This external filter has a .tab file to catch all domains. My question is: what if I want to add another global filter? Would I write the command line into .tab (second line)? Another question: Do

Is there a setting to lock out an IP address after a number of consecutive failed logins? Someone was trying to guess passwords on my server last week (unsuccessfully). When I went through the logs I saw 150 attempts in about a 1 minute time span to guess the passwords. It tried 10 different

there's a logs directory under the MailRoot. You have to enable logs with either a command line option or registry setting to get the logs. I saw the login attempts in the pop3- log. The pop3 log seems to have 6 fields: 1 - hostname 2 - domain attempting to login to 3 - ip address of client

Where would I run that command? When I start xmail I just call: /etc/init.d/xmail start So, I'm not sure where to add those options. Should I just add those as global variable? Sorry, for my ignorance, but I looked at the docs and it didn't make any sense to me. Michael --- Seth A. Munroe
