Well according to my experience, if you want quality and something easy to use with a nice Graphical User Interface have a look @ netssreen firewalls (http://www.netscreen.com) if u want to complicate your life go to cisco they 100% command line interface and very expensive, + it is targeted by the attackers and it routes, as for the watchguard firewall it have a huge history in vulnerability and his ACL needs to restart the firewall every time you change it or add something to it, as for the sonic wall well if u want to use VPN then 4get about it, it have a bug discovered in the 28 of march 2001 in the IKE key.
If u want my choice go to netscreen, cheap, reliable and not targeted and the vpn comes built in the 5, 25 series by default Plz note that m cisco certified and currently doing my ccie in security and voice over ip Regards, ,,, /'^'\ ( o o ) oOOO--(_)--OOOo---------------------- Roger Bou Aoun Senior Security Specialist Data Management - Lebanon Internet Service Provide AL Ghazal Tower, 9TH Floor Tel: + 961 1 337 001 ext 202 Fax: + 961 1 218 889 Mobile: + 961 3 843 155 E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] *************************** End of Message **************************** -----Original Message----- From: leon [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2001 10:08 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: What firewall? Hi! I\'m about to buy a firewall, and I wonder if you people could give me some advices that could help me decide which one that fits me best. See, I\'m quite new with this. So, this firewall should protect a quite big serverpark. It has to deal with a lot of information. It might be necessary to use two devices. If it is, the information will be divided upon these two with a load balancer. No special needs for VPN. I\'ve been thinking about using Watchguard Firewall 2500 or 4500. I know that 4500 handles VPN though. Is this a good choice? Is there sites on the net where products are compared and where you could see the good and the bad of each one? Thanks / Martin Andersson
