The Network Performance Monitor within the Engineers Edition has a big brother
called Orion.
Orion:
Runs as a service.
Web Interface with permissions per user.
SQL backend.
Report feature.
Get access to the underlying data for further analysis via the web.
I have a copy running and watching my internet gateway traffic as well as the
traffic per mail or web server.

There are some free ones, but if you are looking for features and slick
setup, interfaces, charts, etc. you can go cheap with SolarWinds.
We use it and it works great. A standalone license to monitor unlimited
devices is about $995.
However, it doesn't report traffic type that I am aware of.

I am interesting in getting some ideas as to which packages are out
there and recommended to monitor a router.
Like the following stats:(in real-time)
CPU Utilization
Bandwidth Utilization
Packet Count
Packets in Error
Type of Traffic
It would have to be able to work with:
1> Intel Express Routers(frame relay) ie 9515
2> Netopia/Caymen Routers(dsl/sdsl/idsl) ie r3100
3> Cisco Routers. ie2600
Considering Points:
1>Ease of setup
2>Report capability
3>Functionality / Compatibility
I am looking for a Windows based product, but open to other solutions as
well.
