I'd favor packages that bundled Derby or Axion so that we had a known
database. Since we would have pre-configured and packaged the database,
there would not be any installation effort required of the user.
However, I'm not entirely prepared to ditch file system support entirely,
although, I'm just about in favor of ditching or rewriting the current file
system based repositories.
Personally, dbfile is my most-used format. Ironically, considering the
current negative impression a few seem to have, the database format is by
far the more reliable.
I'd favor fixing cornerstone as necessary. There are all sorts of issues in
the code, including lack of scalability and missing methods.
