Stefano Bagnara commented on MIME4J-60:
---------------------------------------

OK. I agree on "The patch adds extra processing into a loop" that is different
from "will degrade performance (by introducing extra copy". I wanted to be sure
you understood there was no extra copy.

About the "unnecessary" this patch is attached to this specific JIRA issue and
the necessity is described by the JIRA issue itself. If you think the JIRA
issue is invalid is something different from discussing the merit of the
technical solution introduced to solve the issue.

Of course there may be better solutions to this issue, so that's why I simply
created a partial proposal and I'm now waiting to see more of them so that will
have (using an italian sentence) the "embarrass of choice" (this is a good
thing).

Most features have costs (performance, code complexity, memory) implication: if
you say what cost is acceptable in trade for this feature I will evaluate
whether it's a mission for me or I better forward this to Tom Cruise.

If you instead think that "configurable strategy for line delimiter" is
something that should be avoided as hell, let's not waste our time discussing
possible implementations and I call Tom to say him we have no job for him.
