I use the "service" admin tool.
Here is an example using NT4 to do the same thing with Merlin (basically the same as the Phoenix requirements).

I'm trying to get James running as NT service. After "wrapper -i
../conf/wrapper.conf", console shows "MyService installed successfully", yet
James doesn't get started. Should "net start MyService" follow to start the
service? When I do that, it says "MyService could not be started". If I run
