Have you used netstat to confirm the IP stack's view of things and comapare

There are some things that can be done to tune TCP/IP to help, depending
upon your OS. And you can consider blocking attackers at the firewall.
I was watching netstat, but sorry, I didn't save my buffer. I didn't
try to match them up, but I didn't see a whole lot coming from one
source. Is there a system log file that would show any useful info? OS is:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 7)
Are you suggesting a DDoS? What troubles me is that James just keeps
complaining about max connections reached, but doesn't do anything
with the ones it does have. Is it reasonable for James to respond in
this way even under a DDoS?
Thanks,
Nathan
