Hi,
I found this problem even with IE 4.0 on Windows NT. I
basically tried all the headers that you tried, but IE
somehow wasn't convinced and always kept caching
my pages.
I finally ended up using a unique key that would be
different every time a request to the servlet was made.
That way IE always thinks its a different page,
arif.

Subject: How to overcome overzealous cacheing by IE4 on Mac ?
I hope this is not off topic - but I am using servlets !
IE4 on the Mac seems to ignore all the HTTP headers that
relate to cache control.
I've set the "Expire" header to the current date or zero, I've
set "Pragma" to "no-cache", and "Cache-Control" to "no-cache".
These all work fine for Netscape on all platforms, IE3 and IE4
on Windows, and Opera. But IE4 on the Mac caches dynamically
generated pages fairly consistently no matter what.
Does anyone know if there are other cache control headers
that may be pertinent ? Or is IE4/Mac basically buggy ?
This is a frustrating problem. Almost all our pages are
generated by servlets and are not cacheable due to the
nature of the data, so caching needs to be disabled.
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
- Claude
