jEdit, an open source programmer's text editor written in Java is decent. At
this point, it might not be as feature rich and/or slick as these other editors,
but it does quite a bit, and as a Java-based and open source endeavor, it is
expanding quickly. It has the potential to be the emacs of Java developers.
