I'm beginning to feel like how I'd feel if I were arguing that Linux
is better than Windows, and people are responding that Windows has
more apps and tools and support and people experienced with it, so the
underlying technical merits of the OS doesn't really matter as long
as Windows is "good enough".  And that's a valid point.  The Network
Effect is strong.

(And lots of people really do prefer Windows, just as it appears lots
of people really prefer JSP.)

Maybe template engine users are destined to end up like Linux users,
happy with their technology but never destined to go mainstream.
