Ok, my first posting goes here. Btw....Simon who made the initial question
lives at the same dorm as I do.

We solved the mail\news problem. Indeed we changed the @home naming
convention like "mail", "news", "www". In our case these local sites are:
mail   ---->  mail.tilbu1.nb.nl.home.com
news ---->  news.tilbu1.nb.nl.home.com
www  ---->  www.tilbu1.nb.nl.home.com
After we changed these all works fine. Maybe I should try to put the
IP-address itselve inthere, as atm we think we lost a bit of speed with the
outsite world.

Furthermore we couldn't get Simon's "Trefnet"-account and my
"Zonnet"-account to work properly. Receiving mail (thru POP-server) was
possible but sending (thru SMTP-server) somehow did not work.
However......we found out however that @home does relayin.....so we both put
those accounts to send there mail to mail.tilbu1.nb.nl.home.com...and it
works. Not the best solution but it works (prob untill @home finds out ;-) )

Thank you for the help we got and count us in as new STN-site.

Jac
