If you have the right product at the right place at the right time at the right price for the right customer, you'll sell it in a heartbeat

The above leaves too much to chance. Simply being there and offering for sale is haphazard. You need to listen to your customer, ask the right questions and LISTEN. We can love the tech stuff but most times the customer cares little about it. Find out what your customer is looking for (ie: distance, accuracy, "feel", appearence, price, etc.)  ask the questions. Listen to the answer and THEN show the product that will answer his/her question. Be honest, factual and CONCISE.

Think about this every time you are in the selling process:

"Sampson slew a thousand Phillistines with the jawbone of an ass.  Every day the same number of sales are slain with the same weapon."

Use your EARS. In every sale situation the customer reaches the "point of insanity" just before agreeing to purchase. Don't confuse them, listen, let them think and decide (sell themselves). Choose your weapons carefully!
