Dan,
Do you have an air compressor & "blowing nozzle"?
If so, then;
1) use a tee to pierce the tape under the grip, by pushing the tee point into the grip butt hole. (sorry if this sounds bad... :o)
2) inject about 3 to 5 ml of solvent (about 1/4 CC)
3) clamp the shaft, with the head up, butt down. (leave the tee in place, till ready to blow)
4) wrap a rag or something very loosely around the grip (leave a bit of room for expansion).
5) using very short, minimal bursts of air, (don't need much at all), and a twisting motion on the grip, starting at the bottom, blow, then twist.
****Caution***** too much air, or no rag/etc. you risk bursting the grip. Also, use eye protection, so you don't risk getting solvent in your eyes.
6) keep this up, till you get to the end of the grip, at which point, a little extra air, and a downward mothion of the hand holding the grip, usually gets it off, most often intact.
Note: If you leave too much room for expansion, the grip will bulge and be useless. If you leave too little room for expansion, it simply won't work.
Good luck..... :o)

PS this is how I remove 99% of the grips I do. Only the old, or really thin grips fail for me. (under 10%)

Only occasionally do I have a grip that is worth saving. I can't see spending money on a removal tool when I only have a couple each year. I happen to have one now. In fact the club hasn't even been used with this grip. I'd like to save it. Is there any easy way to remove this when I don't have any special tools to do so? If not, I'll cut it off and toss it.
Thanks,
Dan
