Good point. If you are fortunate to live in an area where you can truly escape light pollution, or that you can get away to such a place; I suggest spending a "worthless"? night doing this. A number of years ago I lived in AR for a bit, and with a 2 hour drive could be in a location without notable light pollution. A truly remarkable experience. The night sky isn't really black or grey, but a marvolous palatte of colors. Truly awe inspiring. But all it takes is one fool driving within a mile or so with their parking lights on and it is loss for a bit as you are blinded with light.
