Or you could just trim 3/8 off the tip.

Put on  your rubber gloves. Epoxy the tip, wrap the
screen onto the tip   (leave a little bit of screen
hanging over the bottom edge of the tip). Add  epoxy to
the screen. Put some epoxy in the hosel and "screw"
the tip  into the hosel. The little bit of screen in
the bottom will help keep the  screen from riding up
the shaft. If any screen does ride up, trim it with  a
razor blade. It works for me.
