My sons and I carry a 258.08 Vokey bumped up in loft to 59*. Actually our set up is the following: 40* 8-iron / 44* 9-iron /
49* PW / 54* SW / 59* LW. All wedges constant length as the 9-iron. I hit my LW 60 yards and my oldest son (+ hcp) hits his LW 100 yards and he has a tour caliber swing speed. He is also a leftie. I do not know what his swingspeed is as he never wanted it checked. He says it is what it is and he couldn't care less what the real number is. His longest drive on the flats with no wind is 360 yards. His favorite wedge is the Vokey 254.10 but he can hit them all just fine, full or partial. I do not hate any clubs but I am not hitting my driver very solid. I haven't hit it solid for 2 years. I do not have a problem hitting quality shots with any other club in my bag. The rest of my set I absolutely love and have no plans on changing any of them over the next 10 years. > Driver - Callaway Ti 454 or PureFit V prototype > Fairway Metals - Ashton X1-D > Hybrids - Nickent Genex 3DX > Irons - Mizuno forged MX-23 > Wedges - Vokey Tour Satin > Putter - YES Natalie, BC-G wt. All of the above clubs I got discontinued and brand new for $800 CAD. Then I pulled the shafts and started over 'balanced & blueprinted' before a single club hit a single golf ball. The way I look at it is this, "the worst a club should play is the day it is new with the plastic wrap on the head". First of all I swing my driver at 105 mph. Not super fast but too slow either. My 5 iron at 95 mph. Now I don't know how fast i swing a 60 degree wedge but I can only hit it about 70 yards. i don't know maybe i do it wrong???? But to hit a 60 degree wedge 105 yards I would imagine you need a driver swing speed of about 120 mph. Not too many of them around outside the tour.
