I may try to do that later. I don't like rebooting very often. I have never used rhythmbox. However I noticed that rhythmbox is the default music player in nautilus media settings so that might be the source of it launching. Next time I'm over there, I'll check things out. When the time comes, my wheezy stable is going to be a minimal install with only the apps that I use. I think that will help to solve problems like this.
