thanks for Jash for checking the list..I guess I'll post my problem
again..
hi!
I am helping a friend with a question, and I can't physically see the
machine. so the wording might not be exact.
after a power failure. he rebooted the machine. go through everything,
check the partition. then it comes up with:
sh-2.0.1#
that looks like a single user mode and he's in the root directory
when I do a ls -l
for /sbin and and /etc, instead of a "d" for directory, there is a "?"
of course, fsck, shutdown won't work since they are in /sbin. when I told
him to type "exit", it comes back
/etc/profile is not a directory. then comes back to the # sign..
anyone have any suggestions? thansk
