Not sure whether there's a caveat on your home property insurance policy that says it is invalid if you're doing paid work from home, but I'd doubt it. Then again, insurance companies have a habit of being mean and unreasonable in those PDS brochures.
In terms of PL, if you're sitting at a client's office (or potentially in a cafe), doing some work, and someone trips over your laptop bag, you could well be liable for PL. You'll likely also need it for tradeshows and things like that.
