Not sure whether there's a caveat on your home property insurance policy that
says it is invalid if you're doing paid work from home, but I'd doubt it. Then
again, insurance companies have a habit of being mean and unreasonable in those
PDS brochures.

In terms of PL, if you're sitting at a client's office (or potentially in a
cafe), doing some work, and someone trips over your laptop bag, you could well
be liable for PL. You'll likely also need it for tradeshows and things like
that. Good news is, it is pretty cheap.

Any recommendations for someone in the Sydney area?

Also, if you're working from home (and other people are working at
their homes) do you still need public liability? would property
insurance cover your home?

Thanks
