1. They want to see commitment 2. If your not prepared to move to sydney for the 3 months, then perhaps you don't have the commitment they are looking for (if your not committed, why should they be?). 3. What they are asking is exactly the same as for techstars & y-combinator, you move to boulder or san-francisco respectively - the community networking is a major part of the programme. I've just come from SB Drinks where Niki was giving his brief - there were a lot of people there, so you have quite a bit of competition.
