I have a problem listening to something with lyrics when I work, i.e. something which requires thought. If it is cleaning the house, there HAS to be music. If it just instrumental, I can do work (thought-stuff) while it goes on in the background. But serious listening is different -- it becomes a task in itself (of course, a very pleasurable one).
