It was explained to me that the arteries expand and contract due to heart beats, causing tiny stress cracks. Those cracks expose l-proline and l-lysine. There is a cholesterol in the blood whose job it is to stop up such cracks to prevent us from rupturing arteries and bleeding to death. That is Lp(a). The Lp(a) looks for lysine and proline. If you take plenty of vitamin C your body can repair the cracks without the formation of plaque. If you also take proline and lysine, the Lp(a) will bind with that instead of damming up your cracks and causing build up in the arteries.
