Once upon a time long ago, a wise teacher taught me to never use the word "Best".

He stated,

Do not say,

This is the best boy
This is the best girl
This is the best ball player
This is the best car
This is the best tractor
This is the best cow
This is the best horse

Instead he taught,
state the facts and features, stack up all the evidence to suggest that one device or gadget
is superior to another, but not the best.

The best may be around the corner, or around the world, or may not even exist.

His teachings were related to memory training and logic lessons.

Over time, I began to believe them and practice them. They served me well for a lifetime.

I would be a fool to say my CS generator is the best. I would not even say it would be ideal for anyone, or they would want to use it.

It is a simple "Two Bit" generator. Parts used to cost $ 6.00 but depending on the source and the price of quality alligator clips, they could cost $ 8.00 today.

It has few features and does have an LED and current limiting resistor, and will fit into the shirt pocket. ( only partial current limiting, nothing complete or automatic )

It uses no battery, no power supply, no transformer, and certainly no "Wall Wart".
And it is not magic.

By using my current meter, a stopwatch and a logfile, I have been able to develop an instinct and obtain decent results. I use the LED to reject water, and I have a very good EC meter and analog EC sensors that cost $ 600.00

The eye is a precision measuring tool, as Carl Zeiss has proven many times.
( Mt Palomar Observatory ) I understand some grinding was done by eye, at unbelievable tolerances.

While I have worked with many automatic devices, 10,000 at least, at times I prefer old manual methods or semi automatic at most.

Cutting a board ( and yes, I can cut round circles, round wood pieces on a table saw )
Building a table
Making a fish net
Digging a hole with a shovel
Plowing a field with a mule
or......... Carving a Balsa wood fishing lure worth $ 20 to $ 50.00

Anything man has ever made can fail. Nothing beats the hands and the brain.
They make a decent control system.

One machine can do the work of 20 ordinary men.

A machine cannot do the work or ONE extra ordinary man.

And rest assured, I can build any CS generator I can dream up.

One day, if I live long enough, I would like to build a fully computer controlled CS generator. All conditions would be monitored, data logged, and display in real time on the screen. I already have a sophisticated configuration file I worked out over time that would allow the user to change any condition and parameter within seconds.

Anytime you use the word, "Best" be careful !

It calls for exaggeration, speculation, and may not be true. It defies many rules of logic
and someone may challenge your statement.

Stated different, "You could put your foot in your mouth".

There you have some different ideas. Take it or leave it. The cost is the same.
