I have found that my batch has a yellow tint if the time is to slow and the 
taste is usually bitter...in my case it was because the water was not that warm 
...I find that 12 ppm with out a starter should take around 3 hrs with pre 
warmed distilled water  ...also I use the same batch jar always ...for 3 years 
now ...and tap water  to rinse will guaratee me a yellow batch ...even if it is 
wiped ..I always use alcohol to clean if I feel it necessary ...this may help 
someone ...

        Mine is crystal clear and I guess that is what I prefer.  You have to 
wonder why they make yellow instead of clear.   Faith G.
