Del, I happen to see your post on another list, and wrote to you privately as my post to you has a contact name with telephone number. This is someone who knows what to do and how to help and to whom you can call and speak to directly.
It is critical for Jane to start Doxycycline (400-600mg/daily) or another anti-biotic,specifically, for Lyme for an extended period of time (usually not less than 4 weeks or to be determined by MD or LLMD). It is best to find an LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) who uses alternative protocols in his practice and he/she will prescribe anti-biotic(s). If you don't know one, her MD can get her started on Doxy immediately. But, DO NOT wait for test results as they are well known in the Lyme Community for being highly unreliable and time is of the essence here. For right now, if you haven't done so already, start her on CS at least 10ppm (4-6oz./day or more). Second, join Lymestrategies, the yahoo group even if she doesn't want to use Salt/C, the information over there is most helpful. Ask those who are the long-term knowledgeable members over there for assistance or from Marc Fett the owner of the group. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/lymestrategies/ Third, join Lyme_and_Rife yahoo group. This is the community of long term members who moved over from the Lymestrategies group to their own group. You might say they are the veteran members of Lyme and know what they are talking about. Sasha Hi: My wife, Jane, was bitten by a tick while visiting her mother on Shelter Island, one of the Lyme capitals of the world. Anybody out there with knowledge of what should be done immediately to deal with the possibility (probability?) of infection with Lyme? My understanding is that if you catch it early, it is easier to eliminate, but doctors here in Vermont don't know much about dealing with Lyme. There is actually too much information on the web, if you can believe that, she wants an answer fast and my head is spinning with the many Lyme articles I have already read, none of which were targeted at what to do right away if bitten. We were told here that you have to wait four weeks to test to see if you have been exposed to Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme spirochete), and then the test (not sure what test they are talking about) costs $200, is NOT covered by Medicare or our health insurance, and may or may not be reliable. Anybody know about that? Thanks, Del -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
