They may use it on babies but not indefinitely like would be used as a
deodorant.

Well, the recommendation came from Jonathan Wright, and he thought it was
a really good thing to get the extra zinc into your system.
Remember, they smear this on babies bottoms all the time. Doesn't hurt
them any that I know of.

is in zinc oxide? If used every day I might be concerned with overdosing

I thought I would pass this along in case anyone is still looking for an
effective, cheap, and non-irritating deodorant.
I was using GSE mixed with distilled water as a spray.
This worked well, but GSE is starting to get very expensive.
So I switched just recently to Zinc Oxide ointment.
Right, the stuff that is used for diaper rash.
It is cheap, non-irritating, and works great.
Just smear a small dab under each arm in the morning and you are good to
go.
At least that has been my experience.
