Several decades ago  an MD named Bjorn Nordenstrom, at the Karolinska 
Institute,  reported success in treating tumors with electrified needles 
applied, as I recall, directly to the tumors.    So far as I know, this method 
has not gained much acceptance.  I do not know why.
