You will know if you had/have pinworms for sure. Eggs hatch in your intestines and adults hang around the anus causing a crawling sensation.
Unmistakable feeling!! The body will tend to rid itself of them by enough bowel movements over time so if you continue to get them you are reinfecting yourself somehow. The most common way in kids is that they don't thoroughly wash their hands and nails after wiping. Animals also carry pinworms especially if they are grazers. So if one is around feces from those animals, or even cleaning cat litter boxes, that is another way to keep reinfecting oneself. Wash, wash, wash those hands!!
