Actually, I hope very much there's a basis for a more technical list. 
It has taken a while to be proven to me, but it's clear that the two 
purposes cannot coexist without some unacceptable compromises.

Both "techies" and "non-techies" are being strained by accomodating
the other. Maybe a relief valve, of sorts, can be engineered.

You'll do what you need to do, Roger. If the list becomes of 
insufficient value to you, you will be right in unsubscribing, though 
doubtless the members will miss you.

As to motives, I suspect that the behavior we've seen recently is not 
truly reflective of what the people involved intend. Nonetheless, I 
think an attempt to restructure things is in order so that nobody has 
to bend pretzel-style to fit in any more. I'm just waiting for 
reactions and suggestions.
