Roger and Frank,
As you have said Roger, "Reid: One way to START to answer the skeptics
is to get a total silver analysis to confirm the Ag PPM you mentioned.
In addition, I'm hoping the Frank Key will chime in. Perhaps you two
could get together so that he could either produce this high
concentration CS himself, or get a sample of it since he is well
equipped to examine such a product in detail and let us know the
results."

I do intend to run a test for PPM, and of course, this will be the proof
of the pudding. Out of feeling of bit of responsibility to the list I
will ask my director if we can do this as early as possible. But for
one reason or other we both trust the generator we use so would
ordinarily put the PPM test on the back burner. Obviously this is
important, but we have prioritized other work ahead of it. The tests are
cheap enough here, but the infrastructural problems, communication and
transportation can be daunting.

Now let me tell you about the more round about method we are using,
which is to determine how much CS we need in our filters. Yesterday we
got results from the University of Dhaka, Department of Micrbiology,
indicating 100% pathogen removal, for filters that had each been
saturated with 7.5ml of the Mexican CS product 'Bio-Pur,' combined with
an additional 60ml of water. The Bio-Pur label says 0.15% and our CS
diluted from this gives enough material for complete saturation of the
filter. At this dilution I calculate the CS is 167ppm, which is
fortuitously almost exactly what our new generator will do. So in coming
tests we will progressively halve the amounts of Bio-Pur and our CS when
saturating the filter, for each successive test. At some point we will
get a group of filters that does not remove 100% of pathogens, then we
will have a clearer picture as to exactly how much CS is needed at the
beginning of the filters lifetime.

There will no doubt be some disparity between the amount of Bio-Pur
needed and the amount of our CS, vis-a-vis the manufacturers
observations of 1500ppm and 170ppm respectively. The results of the
bacteriological test will probably not corelate very precisely and that
is exactly when we'll require the PPM test for accuracy. But as you have
suggested getting the test sooner rather than later would be best. So
far we have been operating without a budget, so have prioritized things
a bit differently. Our bottom line is that we know its all working, and
that experience has given us some confidence in the manufacturers.

There are other reasons I believe the CS I've been drinking is legit.
For example, I am experiencing none of the various and sundry odors of
my body; a first for me; B.O., halitosis, the works. My family has also
been able to kick several nasty viruses, and I'll soon find out if this
CS treats our bad dandruff. (We must sound like human wrecks!)

Roger, I would be happy to send samples to Frank, but I find that the
most secure way of doing this is to ask some friend or the other, who's
flying there, to carry it along. I can think of no one off hand who is
going within the coming month, but could keep my ear to the ground. On
the other hand, I believe that Stephen Quinto is aware that the other
Mexican product, Microdyn is highly concentrated. Their bottles are
labeled 0.32%, i.e. 3200ppm. Perhaps I could have someone get Frank a
little of the Microdyn?

In any event I would like to respectively request that others who take
an interest in this issue give it a fair hearing, up to the point ppm is
determined. I would ask that people refrain from using words like,
'scoundrel,' when describing those who assert they make the concentrated
CS. I believe that some legitimate producers have been severely
discouraged from participating in this discussion because of this kind
of knee jerk, and sadly that is to detriment of many of us.
Thanks for your interest,
Reid Harvey
