I think you run the risk or argyria??? That's what the Blue Bloods did back in the Roman & Greek era. How about gargling? Also, I got a 1oz spray bottle of saline from the local pharmacy. Empty the contents, and fill it 1/2 way with CS. Now you can spray CS down your throat, into each nostril, and let a drop or two drip into each eardrum.
