Yes, used the technique on hornet nests a number of time. Take a bucket and put a small amount of gasoline in the bottom. Then attach to a pole and hold it up to the wasp nest, with the nest in the bucket, but not touching the gas. You only have to hold it for a minute, and when you remove it, every hornet in the nest will be dead.
However, do NOT bring the nest in the house. The pupae will not be killed, and will hatch out over the next few days.
