Any available mercury in a filling will soak up silver and harden even
harder, becoming more stable.
That's how the amalgum was made to begin with.
Most of the silver will aborb elsewhere before contacting mercury in
fillings.

Regarding mercury fillings, I don't remember at this time, whether silver
has a greater electropotential than mercury, I believe it does in which
case, concentrations of mercury in the mucosa (very harmful otherwise)
should not displace silver.
