I have the same thing with my spot that lost it's scab yesterday. There
is a white goo left behind. If it sticks around a few more days I will
reapply the salve to it.

So it looks as if the same thing has happened to you, that the top crust has
come away and left the "stalk" as it were.
But it sounds as if my DHs eschar was puny compared to yours.
