Max, I just tried out installing ASSP as you instructed.
I have run into a few problems: 1. It appears that ASSP can't connect to SIMS (I used your modified PPC version). I run SIMS already for a few years on a OS X machine, and there was always the problem that no non-Carbon app could talk to SIMS because the Classic IP stack does not fully connect with the Unix based IP stack, as I was told. Now, ASSP seems to try the same thing and so it's not surprising that this does not work either. But since you and others indicate that it's working for you, I wonder why it doesn't on my system then. I'm still using 10.2.8 - could it be that all you who got this working are using OS 10.3.x, where this problem might have been sold without me noticing yet? 2. You write: >Another potential problem is if you rely on POP before SMTP to temp >white list road warriors. Err, yes, I rely on this feature as I'm using Claris Emailer which does not support SMTP AUTH and my DSL connection is often switching the IP address. So you're saying that you know of no solution here? Darn. 3. Warren, who you replied to recently, and I are providing each others with SIMS as a MX backup server. I wonder if I have to do anything else apart from whitelisting his mail server's IP address? E.g, when his server is down, mine acts as a backup, saving incoming mails and later delivering them again to his server. So, those of his domains are not really "local" domains on my SIMS, but I could imagine that I have to add all those backed-up domains to the list of local domains so that ASSP does not reject them?
