Commenting on domain vs. Hostname... Devices that don't do proper SRV lookup assume domain is hostname instead of looking up the SRV and getting the hostname from it. These are 2 different things. If your vendor does not have the logic in his product to perform the SRV lookup and resolve it, it can be a problem.
A workaround would be to add an "A" record to the domain itself with the same IP address (Snom). When configuring a counterpath softphone one never inputs a hostname, just the sip domain name. In your case, if we are talking about a cisco router with a FXO or PRI card in it, it is more likely a configuration at the router if everything else is working. ============================ Tony Graziano, Manager Telephone: 434.984.8430 Fax: 434.984.8431 Email: tgrazi...@myitdepartment.net LAN/Telephony/Security and Control Systems Helpdesk: Telephone: 434.984.8426 Fax: 434.984.8427 Helpdesk Contract Customers: http://www.myitdepartment.net/gethelp/ ----- Original Message ----- From: sipx-users-boun...@list.sipfoundry.org <sipx-users-boun...@list.sipfoundry.org> To: Staffan Kerker <ietf-li...@kerker.se>; jhro...@joher.com <jhro...@joher.com> Cc: sipx-users@list.sipfoundry.org <sipx-users@list.sipfoundry.org> Sent: Sat Apr 03 02:21:51 2010 Subject: Re: [sipx-users] calls from PSTN to operator(AA)=ok but transferfromoperator to an extension=failed @Staffan: i tried that command "voice service voip allow-connections sip to sip" but still unable to receive incoming calls. @Jean-Hugues: i confirmed that the router name server is set to the sipX machine (w/c is our dns). One thing though.....from the router, i can ping the whole qualified domain (in our case sipxgw.alsterph.lan) but i can't ping just the domain (alsterph.lan). Could this be the issue? Update: Im currently working on fixing the dns Pls advise me further. Thnx.
