Look at the logfiles.  I had a similar issue with a VVX1500 just last week.
Phone was completely messed up.   Log indicated it couldn't load the
firmware, the error was full disk on the phone (huh?).  I updated the
bootrom and everything worked fine after that.

I think there was an old bootrom on the phone, and a newer firmware that was
not compatible.

Well this is a Polycom 550 phone. Nothing seems to be working. Is there
anyway other way I could remove this firmware? Maybe through some hardware
reset. I am going to check the log files when I get back to the system
