That's awesome. I will dig further into this method and give it a shot. It
would be great if the Snapshot can be scheduled rather than doing it
Manually :-)

If this is a VM, simply create a snpahot and then copy the vm off somewhere.
Easy DR is a staple of using VM's.

f your using vmware, you can use the included VMWare data recovery, to
create dedup'd copies of the VM's for restore.

Then if you need to restore you simply plop the vmdk or other vm file right
back in place..
