I just checked. It doesn't work with snapshots either, even after  
removing the Auto option. (command + - = affect the zoom, but the  
pinching doesn't.)

The odd thing is that all these other programs like Yep, EagleFiler,  
Papers, Yojimbo, seem to work with the zoom pinching even though they  
are not nearly as sophisticated as Skim in terms of PDF viewing/ 
editing. So my guess is that

By the way, the three finger swipe does work in Skim! (it too works in  
Preview and other 3rd party PDF viewer/organizers; I haven't checked  
BibDesk but I assume it also works there). A 3 finger swipe goes to  
the start of the next page with a smooth scrolling transition, quite a  
nice and simple effect.
