A follow-up question:

when I saw this thread yesterday, I checked my installation. I had to apply the TextMate patch, but still forward search (TextMate .tex -> Skim .pdf) did not work. A pop-up (or mouse-over) "window" in TextMate indidates that forward search requires pdfsync.sty to be loaded. If I add "\include{pdfsync}" in the TeX source, it works, indeed.

Since I'm using syntex (from the MacTeX TeXlive2008 distribution), I had expected that forward and backward search work without pdfsync.sty. Was that assupmtion wrong or is my installation buggy?

(I'm using Skim 1.2 and TextMate with that patch; backward search (Skim .pdf -> Textmate .tex works fine with and without \include{pdfsync})

The latex bundle has now been updated in the repository, so if you
use the repository version of the bundle, instead of the one shipping
with TextMate, then just do an "svn up" and you should be good to go.

If you don't have the repository version checked out, you can find
information about how to do that on the textmate wiki (sorry, don't
have an exact link at the moment), or ask in TextMate's mailing list.

No, you should wait for the next version of the TextMate latex
bundle, or fix it yourself. Workaround can be found at <https://

Hi everybody,

Am I the only one who has problem with synctex after updating to
1.2? I was enjoying using Skim 1.1.3 with Textmate and forward and
inverse search. Howevery, inverse search ( TeX --> PDF) has
stopped working after updating to 1.2. From the discussion going
on between Christiaan and Haris, I guess there is something going
on. Should we wait for 1.2.1?

Thanks,

Is there anyone on the list who can tell me exactly how TextMate
