I never get reverb. What you are describing is close to a micro feed back loop. and I use this method all the time, actually I only use it if I need to adjust stuff on my set up and you really don’t need to hear yourself to use skype in my opinion Once you set it up you are good to go and you can then us eline in if you are making changes to your set up such as a new mic or what not.
