Yes, I have a hearing loss hence the need for
high volume, not that it seems particularly loud
when up full on the Mac. I've only 2 pairs of
headphones with a mic attached, one is the
earphones that came with my iPhone, and the other a pair of sennheisers -

actually I only use it if I need to adjust
stuff on my set up and you really dont need
to hear yourself to use skype in my opinion
Once you set it up you are good to go and you
can then us eline in if you are making changes
to your set up such as a new mic or what not.
