Hi! I use Skype with NVDA and nothing else all the time, and I don't have a touch screen computer, but I manage fine with standard Skype. So I venture to give you a few tips which may help you. As has already been pointed out in this thread, it's possible to move between the contact list and the recent events list in Skype with alt+1 and alt+2 respectively. As for reading written chat messages, that is not complicated either, I don't think so anyway! It may help to set your view to compact view, where each chat appears in a new window, that way a window will open when someone sends you a written chat message: if you want to call the person you've been chatting with, you can press Spacebar on the Call button in that very same window. As for reading and writing messages yourself, once you've written a message, simply press shift+tab to the list of previous messages in the same chat, which you can scroll through by arrowing up and down. To start a written chat yourself, find the person you want to chat with in your contacts list, then press the Applications key, then choose Send IM: you can use this method to call them too, as Call is one of the options in the list you get when you press the Applications key. This is hardly an intensive course in using Skype with NVDA, but the above instructions will hopefully prove to you that it dcan be done without the need for extra scripts. It may also be useful to know that, when you're doing a written chat, NVDA will automatically read replies from whoever you're chatting with if you keep your focus in the chat window.
