They probably are banking on a few people setting up NAT gateways over the cable link
in appartment complexes and instead of accepting the business of "genuine" customers
they are instead intent on preventing the minority from abusing the service.
If you forced the issue their management would turn around and say it was a logistics
issue, or a permit problem, or [insert crap]. Pretty typical - the grunts are armed
with a standard fob line that they think is a load of crap with which they
are meant to use on the hoards of potential customers asking why they can't get what
their next door neighbour has.
Bullshit like this pisses me off.
