IIRC, a friend of mine who called up Optus, and talked to a strangely
cluey tech support guy, said that they only monitor your bandwidth
usage... which is about 300kbps upload (don't quote me on that). He
asked about the no server policy, and gave the example of just running
an ftp server so that friends could download files from him. The tech
guy said that although that kind of behaviour would be frowned upon,
as long as your upload stayed below 300k, then they'd not get
suspicious.
