Hi All,
I am trying to eval the usage of Linux as a desktop. Till now, I have
used Linux as a server and a developer's workstation and it has
performed admirably.
For a desktop, good or bad I need Microsoft compatibility as all
documents I get sent are in Word, Excel and Powerpoint. I would like
to hear some stories on compatibility between these and the Linux
versions of StarOffice, WP, KOffice etc.
Because of the recent releases of developer s/w like JBuilder, VAJ,
WebSphere, DB2, Oracle I can make Linux a strong case for usage as a
commercial developer workstation. I wish to do the same for desktop
apps.
