Redhat install is indeed not friendly.

Mandrake on the other hand is, it autodetected my sound card (sblive),
network card
etherexpress pro, mouse and so on.

It even went and downloaded the high security encryption from a non-us site
for me.

It really could not have been easier.

It can be done, redhat really just needs to lift its game.
