I agree, tho you could perhaps get around that by having your modem for the
internet on a different interface and sepreate modme and phone line... This
is often the case for me because people seem to like network faxing more and
more. Hence each gateway has two modems and different phonelines. hrmm
/me kicks telstras big fat greedy arse!

Sounds like a very good idea but for some reason people seem to want to do
that anyway:
They let it rung twice, then they think they have the wrong number, look it
up again and redial.
If you had the modem connected, they'd get that guy who whistles again.
That's probably why caller ID is better, if you can get it.
