Anything that gets macs out of our schools is a good start... :-)

I have seen these figures too.
They are very anticompetitive. No other "commercial" OS or software vendor
could afford to bundle an offer like this together.
Bill knows this so he is assured of making the schools" an offer they can't
refuse" and then has them "locked in". When the time comes
for the next round of product upgrades the schools have no choice
but to concede and slip Bill a little more blood money. The same thing
has happened here at UWS, with inappropriate MS licensing and
bundling being put up as the standard for desktop systems now.
Other vendors just can't compete and as such don't get a look in.
Hell - you can't even suggest them!
Sorry - this is off topic from my original commentary but it ires me to
see these figures touted as "a good thing" - it's not. It stifles
innovation
and while the schools seem to be getting a "good deal" it's not a good
deal for the rest of the end user community. That's why I am always
at pains to suggest or implement a UNIX or at least Linux solution
when I am asked to do these things.
