Ah bing - yep - self serving crap. Never do training with the company
that tells you you need training.

Try getting three different companies to tell you the same thing.

Unless your company is providing the training, I would be very sus about
doing any certification to get work, because once you have the
certification, they next want experience.

And your age is against you as a generalist and you will be exceedingly
unlucky to get a trainee position.

My old guidance was to watch the skills requested on Jobnet and find out
which agencies request which skills. However, currently, there is an
enormous amount of false jobs being advertised.
